KNOW THE MATH
How it works
Add one item type for each set of external packed box dimensions. Each item can use centimeters, millimeters or inches independently. CBM is the sum of external box volumes, not an optimized container volume: empty space, pallet gaps and loading inefficiency are not included.
Formula
Total CBM = Σ (length × width × height × quantity), converting each item’s dimensions to meters before adding its unrounded volume. Total boxes = Σ quantity.
Worked example
10 boxes at 60 × 40 × 30 cm = 0.72 m³; 5 boxes at 80 × 50 × 40 cm = 0.80 m³; 20 boxes at 30 × 20 × 20 cm = 0.24 m³. Total: 1.76 m³, 35 boxes and 3 item types.
